From June 23 to 27, 2025, Annamarija Trausa from the FeLow-D project visited Iceland to initiate discussions around future collaborations in materials science and nanotechnology.

At the University of Iceland, she was warmly welcomed by Prof. Snorri Ingvarsson. During her visit, she gave a talk, joined an excursion, and met with several researchers from the Science Institute. The meetings were productive and highlighted a strong mutual interest in collaborative research.

Annamarija was also invited to Reykjavik University, where she gave another presentation and held discussions with Prof. Andrei Manolescu and Dr. Muhammad Taha Sultan from the Nanophysics group. Their conversations focused on nanowires and SEM-based nanomanipulations, and an active collaboration was established, with both sides looking forward to developing joint projects.

In addition, she visited Grein Research, meeting with Dr. Árni Sigurður Ingason and touring their laboratories. The company, which provides R&D services in material synthesis, expressed interest in future cooperation.
This visit laid the foundation for several promising research partnerships and aligns closely with the FeLow-D project’s aim to expand global research cooperation and strengthen capacity at the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia.
