Today, the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL) had the pleasure of hosting Dominika Czekanowska, a PhD candidate from the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research, Polish Academy of Sciences (INTiBS PAN).

Dominika shared her fascinating research on the synthesis and study of photocatalytic properties of 2D materials and their hybrids, showing how these advanced structures can help make our world cleaner and more sustainable. Her talk highlighted how 2D hybrid catalysts can boost energy efficiency and enable innovative water purification methods using light.
The seminar gathered researchers and students from different backgrounds, all curious to learn more about how nanomaterials can transform environmental technologies. The atmosphere was friendly, full of thoughtful questions and inspiring discussions about future collaboration possibilities between our teams.

We thank Dominika for her engaging presentation and for bringing such positive energy and scientific passion to ISSP UL. We look forward to seeing where this exciting research will lead next!
